FAQ
What makes a Mini Aussiedoodle different from other doodles?
Mini Aussiedoodles tend to shed less and be more allergy friendly. They can be full of energy and enjoy a lot of activity but also enjoy hanging out on the couch. They tend to love kids. Mini Aussiedoodles also learn quickly and can learn a lot of fun tricks. They also tend to have a fun, silly personality and enjoy being with their family.
Do they shed?
Yes! All dogs shed to some extent. Mini Aussiedoodles have a poodle combination coat and rather than shedding like you imagine an Aussie or a Lab they lose dead hair. You brush your hair and some of it comes out in the brush. Same with them. You may notice some, you may not. Brushing your Aussiedoodle will help the hair they are losing and reduce the chances of matting. You can see our products page for items we have used and love.
How often should I brush my Mini Aussiedoodle?
You should brush your Mini Aussiedoodle about 1-2 times a week. If their hair is looking more curly then you should brush more often.
Can I train my puppy myself?
Definitely! Mini Aussiedoodles are very smart so with consistency, positive reinforcement, and rewards you can absolutely train your puppy.
Should I get a male or female puppy if I already have a dog?
It depends on your current dog's temperment. I once had female Havanese who I knew wouldn't get along with another female dog in the house. Currently we have a female Shih Tzu mix, a male Labradoodle, and Lucy - our female Mini Aussiedoodle. Our girls love everyone.

What is Badass Breeder?
Badass Breeder (BAB) is puppy raising curriculum that involves intentional handing of puppies after they are 3 days old and exposure to new stimuli including sights, sounds, textures, and smells. They are also introduced to new people and places during their critical socalization period. The cirriculum helps empower puppies to be confident and it helps teach every puppy resilience, that the world is safe, and that people and dogs are friendly.
At 7 weeks old, puppies are temperment tested. This testing assesses energy level, confidence, motivation, toy/prey drive, assertiveness, resiliency, sight and sount sensitivity, touch tolerance, and human focus. Once we know these traits we are able to meet each puppy's unique needs and match each puppy's temperment to their family's lifestyle and preferences.
What are some good foods to feed my puppy or dog?
When you choose a food, you want to make sure the first ingredient is meat. Also, you don’t want to feed grain free without talking to your vet first.
Additionally, when you check the ingredients you want to make sure your dog food doesn’t have both liver and added copper of some kind. AAFCO changed the requirements related to copper supplementation and dog food companies are not required to reveal the amount of copper in the guaranteed analysis. You can call the manufacturer or see if they include it in a report in their website. You want as close to minimum levels of 7.3mg/kg for adults and 12.4mg/kg for puppies.
Some really good dog food brands I recommend for puppies are: Stella & Chewy’s, The Honest Kitchen, Farmina, Open Farm, Canidae, American Journey, and Nutrisource. I also recommend Wellness .
For adults - Nutrisource, Canidae, American Journey, 4Health, Redford Naturals, Costco brand, Nature's Logic, Farmina, The Honest Kitchen, Stella and Chewy's, and Wellness.
